At 1106 feet in elevation, Sligo Hill is the highest point in the town of Greenville NY. Given that I've walked every road in the town, explored its only public forest, and lived next door to it for eighteen years, I've pretty comprehensively covered the town. Still, it bugged me that I had only been to the highest publicly accessible point on nearby North Road, and not the true high point. The 1100 foot elevation contour runs under a dead-end, one-lane road called Sligo Road. Given that the road is so small that even the mail truck doesn't go down it, I figured getting to the true highpoint would be risky.
Still, not willing to be stuck in the house all day, I talked the family into taking a short drive to the high point, only a few miles from the apartment, to see if we could do a quick drive-by tag. We pulled up the road and found to my amazement that the highest ground visible seemed to be on the road itself. With my camera still dead from Mount Rogers, I jumped out of the car and grabbed a few pictures with my phone, then headed back in and returned. Nobody gave us any trouble, but we were there for a grand total of ninety seconds.
Given its relative remoteness, I suspect only around two dozen people have ever been to the Greenville high point, and the locals probably don't even know they live on top of their town.

Selfie at the top. The contrast on this one is messed up because it had to focus on me instead of the landscape. |
